Title Review

Providing empirical evidences from India, at the national as well as regional levels, this book examines the complex and multifaceted linkages between population and environment. Infact, an outcome of a national seminar organized by the Population-Environment Centre of the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai, India -- the publication comprises a total of 15 contributed papers, mostly original, that examine the nexus between population and environment while focusing upon such critical and inter-related areas as food, water and sanitation. Also discussed are the issues of urbanization in the context of environment and disaster and those related to household environment and its impact on the health of women and children.
