India is still at an early stage of infrastructure development, which provides a unique opportunity to achieve a low carbon growth path as it goes forward. It is thus critical as well as important that the country makes appropriate interventions and choices in development of infrastructure. This India Infrastructure Report 2010 (IIR 2010), ninth in the series of IIR, focuses on the development of India’s infrastructure in a low carbon manner. The report contains a total of 27 specially commissioned papers—authored by expert professionals, which discuss the range of relevant issues and identify the key drivers for low carbon growth in major infrastructure sectors. Legal, regulatory, institutional and financing issues have been specially examined and recommendations have been made for addressing the future challenges.
