Title Review

The volume is a compilation of Padma Karpo’s writings on Mahamudra. Padma Karpo was the fourth Drukchen or leader of the Drukpa Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism and one of the most famous of all Tibetan authors.

The book presents translations based on extensive personal teaching received from Drukpa Kagyu masters. It comes in an attempt to present the first major presentation of texts of the Drukpa Kagyu in English. The seven texts presented here are teachings on Mahamudra that contain the essential approach of the Drukpa Kagyu to Mahamudra : a gradual approach in four steps or yogas (the path of unification) to reach ultimate Mahamudra .Explaining important terms and concepts, it points out the differences between Drukpa Kagyu and other Kagyu schools where view of things in terms of the path of Mahamudra is concerned.
