Title Review

The papers in this volume, presented at a national seminar held at the Center for SAARC Studies, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, examine the current dynamics of regional cooperation under the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Techno Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

Analyzing the role of India in the future growth of the BIMSTEC, the contributors take stock of the trends of cooperation among its member countries -- Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan -- in the areas of trade and investment, science and technology, and human development. Political and foreign policy perspectives of BIMSTEC have also been discussed in detail.
