This study, conducted by the Research and Information System for Developing Countries, New Delhi, attempts to examine the potential of economic partnership between IBSA (India, Brazil, South Africa) in the areas of trade in goods, services, investments, and technology cooperation.
Presenting a broad profile of IBSA, it makes a detailed analysis of trade between these three countries and explores the trade complementaries against the backdrop of the trade policy reforms and tariff-non-tariff regimes. It also focuses on the potential for trade in services and reviews the investment relations as well as the state of connectivity (air and shipping) between these countries. The potential of strategic cooperation in shaping the international trade and financial architecture has been explored as well.
