The Desert National Park in the Rajasthan state of the Indian Union is a unique example of man-made desert biosphere for wildlife conservation and protection. Using an empirical approach, the present study attempts at an assessment of the natural and human-induced ecological evolution of this Park, and explores the inter-relationship between animals and plants of this area. The study also discusses the socio-economic aspects related to the Park and analyses the major management issues and problems. Finally, some suggestions have been made for immediate and long-term development of the Park.
