This study covers the sociological investigation on different aspects of the Indic names of persons. Based on its outcome, rules in conformity with AACR-2 have been devised. It also evaluates the accessions list, South Asia, in the context of rendering the Indic names. It finds about 6.1 per cent mistakes in the list and prescribes correct entries, as also provides proper explanation in defence of the correction.
