The Varma treatment (Thanuology) is an indigenous medical system practised mostly in southern India, which explains the causes and cure of various diseases mainly in terms of impacts at the vital nerve centres of the human body. Present volume is an English translation of an ancient and original work (in Tamil language) on Thanuology -- Varma Odimurivu Gnanam. It provides details of different diseases that arise due to bone dislocations and breakages and damages to the tissues, and the kind of treatment to be employed in all such cases. Part-II of the volume describes the methods of preparing more than 25 medicines, like oils, decoctions and pills, etc, that are used in the treatment, under this system, and their indications in the various diseases.
