Title Review

A sequel to the earlier volume, Heritage 1778-1947, this one builds up another authentic account of the exploits of the Rajput Regiment during the subsequent eventful period. On the basis of first-hand information gathered by the author himself from "a large number of participants" because the records (available) were "awfully scant and inadequate".

First and foremost, unfolds the gripping account of the Regiment encounter with the Pakistani "marauding hordes" who had menacingly descended into Kashmir Valley and who were crushingly defeated in the end. Second, gives the first-ever documented account of the Regiment''s role in facing up to the Chinese forces'' challenge during the 1962 Himalayan Operations. Also, provides a few documentary Appendices: including "the List of the British Officers of the Regiment".
