The articles in the volume, presented at a seminar, discuss the cultural, religious, philosophical, literary and architectural contributions of the ancient Nalanda University. The articles in Hindi and English examine how this centre of excellence in the field of Pali and Buddhsit studies helped in spreading a culture of peace, harmony and co-existence. They deal with the development of Buddhist traditions at Nalanda, contributions of the logicians of Nalanda, ideals of education at the university, its school of art and its impact on other regions. It also takes up contributions of Nalanda to enrichment of Hindi and Sanskrit literature and views the archaeological sites around Nalanda.
