Tibetan medicine is one of the oldest surviving medical systems with an enormous herbal pharmacopoeia, complex and systematic manufacturing processes and a complete system of diagnosis and treatment. These valuable medical treasures are found in “Gyueshi” (Four Tantras)—a complete and profound multi-faceted fundamental text of Tibetan medicine. The last Tantra (part) of the Four Tantras of Gyueshi” encompasses the important theoretical principles of the major practical applications of Tibetan medicine. It includes comprehensive diagnosis, systematic methods of manufacturing different forms of medicines, the systematic ways of applying different evacuative and external therapies and the summarization of the complete knowledge and practices of Tibetan medicine.
With the aim of sharing Tibetan medical knowledge and practices with non-Tibetans, particularly English speaking practitioners and researchers, this book offers a faithful English translation of the Subsequent (Fourth) Tantra of ‘Gyueshi’ alongwith the original text in Tibetan language. Transliteration is also provided in the glossary for literary research purposes. | | Top |
