The present volume of essays comes out of an international conference organized by the Institute of Foreign Policy Studies (IFPS), University of Calcutta, India, as a part of it United Nations Academic Programme (UNAI) on Peace and Conflict Studies. It incorporates the full text of 8 essays authored by eminent researchers from IFPS and University of Warsaw, Poland. In the essays, the contributors have tried to grapple with securitization process and its impact, by looking at various aspects of both traditional and non-traditional security issues. The focus of the included studies is on the current socio-political situation in South Asia and Europe. The securitization process of socio-cultural aspects of human life has also been analyzed in some of the included pieces. Copious references for further reading are available.
