Title Review

Criminal Justice System (CJS) in a society is the expression of will of the state to handle the challenges of crime and to protect the interests of vulnerable section s. The victim and the witness have long been the relatively neglected and marginalized entities of CJS. In the present anthology, the editor aims at compiling diverse opinions, observations and also empirical evidences in the Indian context which demonstrate the weakness of CJS when it comes to assist, protect and support a victim or a witness. The learned authors have discussed various criminal procedure models from the viewpoint of status of victim, to support their observations. They have also suggested the areas that require suitable changes in the CJS policies in India. The volume also includes a few pieces that discuss about corporate victimization and juvenile victimization, particularly in the Indian context.
