An outcome of a national seminar, this edited volume examines critically the policies, programmes and provisions for the educational development of the marginalised children in India, particularly those belonging to tribal communities and economically weaker sections of the society. It compiles a total of 17 analytical papers, many of which provide empirical evidences to the current status and the problems & challenges of education of the marginalised children from different states/regions of the country. The authors—eminent scholar sand teachers of education from all over India, argue for the need to reach the unreached by tackling the problem of inequality in educational opportunities for the marginalised children, and suggest measures for the same.
